The Rev. Rudy Pulido, the St. Louis Labor Council’s faith liaison (standing with microphone) and Sal Valdez (Laborers Local 110), diversity outreach and marketing representative for Midwest LECET (Laborers-Employers Cooperation & Education Trust), delivered a message recently at the St. Louis Islamic Center about the harm so-called “right-to-work” will have on ALL workers in Missouri. Imam Eldin Susa (seated to Pulido’s left) invited Rev. Pulido and Valdez to speak to his congregation about the harmful anti-union, anti-worker law on May 19 and the petition currently in circulation to place so-called “right-to-work” on the ballot for voters to decide. Rev. Pulido and Valdez collected several signatures, and Valdez returned the next day for an event at the mosque to collect even more. – Labor Tribune photo
