St. Louis NAWIC Block Kids Building Competition set for Nov. 20

The St. Louis chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is hosting its 31tst annual Block Kids Building Competition on Saturday, Nov. 20 for children in grades three through six.

The event, which introduces kids to the construction industry in an effort to create awareness and promote careers, is sponsored by Budrovich and will be held at its Lakeside Conference Center at 10300 Lake Bluff Drive in Affton.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Children will be given interlocking blocks and will have about an hour to create a project based on the instructions provided. Afterward, they will have lunch while their projects are being judged followed by a short awards ceremony.

The Block Kids Building program is an award-winning national building competition sponsored by the NAWIC Education Foundation and implemented at the local level by individual NAWIC chapters.
