Pontoon Beach, IL – The Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR) Chapter 34-7-2 will hold its annual awards banquet on Monday, Aug. 14 to benefit its Jane Becker SOAR Scholarship fund.
The event will recognize friends of the organization, active members and community volunteers, in addition to the high school seniors competing for scholarship.
Doors open at 11 a.m. with a cash bar, followed by the luncheon at noon and the program at 1 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 each or $35 for couples. Tickets at the door will be $25 each or $40 for couples. It’s at the Neighborhood Social Club, 4168 Illinois Route 162 in Pontoon Beach.
