Roslyn Croft, diversity manager for Tarlton Corp., has been honored with a 2021 Champion for Diversity and Inclusion award by the St. Louis Business Journal.

Croft received the award at a Sept. 9 luncheon at the Chase Park Plaza. The newspaper’s award program showcases individuals who, through their work, are truly championing the cause of making St. Louis a more inclusive place to live and work.

“It’s great to see someone recognized for her hard work and positive energy,” Tarlton shared on Facebook. “Each of us has the ability to be more inclusive and to be a bright light that can make a difference in another person’s life. Thanks, Ros, for being you.”

Croft joined Tarlton’s team in 2009, where she initially worked on project teams. Her interest in finding ways to help businesses with minority and women owners led her to her becoming diversity manager.

When she began the position in 2013, Tarlton’s percentage of projects with minority- or women-owned businesses was a little less than five percent. By fiscal year 2020, that number had jumped to 19.8 percent. Additionally, the company began tracking the workforces on all of its projects last year.

In addition to Croft’s work with Tarlton, she is also a member of the Associated General Contractors of Missouri’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Missouri Women in Trades. She also participates in the Alliance for Interracial Dignity.
