HELPING POLICE BUILD BONDS and establish positive relationships with the St. Louis County communities they serve, the Teamsters National Black Caucus joined several churches and civic groups distributing more than 20,000 Disney-donated children’s CDs and thousands of toys to 62 area police departments to give to needy families in their jurisdictions. Helping to make it happen (left), volunteers sorted gifts into cartons as police officers (center) check in to get the CDs and toys, then carted them off (right) to distribute in time for Christmas in yet another example of our unions’ spirit of giving during the holidays and throughout the year. Assisting in the effort on Dec. 14 were Keys of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 15th Street Baptist Church, the Kory Johnson Foundation, Urban League of Metro St. Louis, the Teamsters National Black Caucus-St. Louis Chapter and We Come Together. – Roy Gillespie photos
