Tilesetters Local 18 banners new Planet Fitness

SOUTH ST. LOUIS – Tilesetters Local 18 of Missouri has an active job action against the new Planet Fitness location at the corner of Chippewa St. and S. Kingshighway Blvd. for hiring American Flooring, an out-of-state non-signatory contractor that pays below area standard wages and benefits, to do work at the new location. Local 18 President and Business Manager Mike Weber spoke with the lead installer on the project who informed him he is working for $25/hr. with no benefits and said the rest of his crew is being paid $20/hr. with no benefits.
