Ferguson, MO – The “Action Team” of United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 655 and the UFCW International are joining together once again in the fight against Sickle Cell disease.

On Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Local 655 is hosting a barbecue fundraiser at the Ferguson Schnucks store, located at 49 N. Florissant Road.

Come on out for some great barbecue, solidarity with your union brothers and sisters and a chance to make a difference in the fight against this dreaded disease.

Sickle Cell disease can be devastating to one in every 12 African-Americans. Currently, there is no cure for the disease. The only hope is continued research and study.
