UFCW Local 655’s annual Joe Pretti Golf Tournament celebrates 25th year

UFCW Local 655’s 25th Annual Joe Pretti Golf Tournament to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will take place in a new venue this year, with special guests.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Sunset Country Club, 9555 S. Geyer Rd., St. Louis, MO 63127.

The exclusive Sunset Country Club is one of St. Louis’s top golf courses and will offer an experience unlike anything the tournament has had in the past.

The tournament is hosted by Local 655 President David Cook and a Host Committee of UFCW International President Marc Perrone and Segal Marco Advisors Senior Vice President John Marco.

“UFCW Local 655 raised more than $60,000 last year, all of which directly benefitted the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), which seeks to find treatments and a cure for blood cancers relating to Leukemia and Lymphoma,” Cook said.

“Nationally, UFCW is on the single largest donors to LLS, and I’m proud to say that Local 655 is one of the leading fundraisers in the effort to ultimately cure these deadly diseases,” he added.

“Because of the generosity of our sponsors and the partnership between UFCW and LLS, remarkable discoveries in treatments and cures have been developed by the hard-working medical professionals battling these diseases. I sincerely hope everyone will consider contributing to this cause and joining us for a relaxing day of golf, food, drinks and much more.”
