Nomination deadline for contest is Dec. 4

Union Plus, a non-profit consumer benefits organization created and endorsed by the AFL-CIO, is hoping to make the holidays a little brighter this year by giving $1,000 to 100 extraordinary union members.

It’s all part of the Union Plus Holiday Giveback campaign, designed to provide a boost to union members this season after a long and difficult year in which these extraordinary times call for some extraordinary giving.

Nominees must be 18, live in the United States and current union members in good standing with a union internationally affiliated with the AFL-CIO. Union members may submit themselves. You do not have to be a union member to submit a nomination.

There are two ways to enter:

Record a video: Create a one-minute video about the union member and submit it at unionplus.org/holidaygiveback or post it on your personal Instagram page using the hashtags #UnionPlusGiveAGrand and #Contest.

Write about it: Use the entry form at unionplus.org/holidaygiveback to paint a picture in 300 words or less of the union member.

In the entry, explain what makes the nominee extraordinary, including the work they do in their community, circumstances that they may have overcome this year or any other reason they deserve $1,000 this holiday season. Be passionate and creative.

Nominations must be submitted by Dec. 4, and winners will be awarded throughout December. Nominators will be alerted that their nominee has won, and arrangements will be made for a special reveal.

The mission of Union Plus, which was founded in 1986, is to improve the quality of life for union members and their families, provide valuable benefits and services that strengthen the ties of union members to their unions and contribute funding to the Labor Movement.
