UnitedHealthcare last week donated $20,000 to the Missouri AFL-CIO’s Working Families Relief Fund.

“This is a vital solidarity effort to support our brothers and sisters in need,” said Missouri AFL-CIO President Jake Hummel, “And we deeply appreciate United Healthcare’s support on behalf of our working families.”

In making the donation, UnitedHealthcare of Missouri CEO Pat Quinn said, “We will continue to engage in these efforts to support the health and well-being of Missouri workers, from front-line workers like UFCW grocery store and meat processing plant members to all other trades.”

HELPING UNION FAMILIES
Working Families Relief Fund has provided help to almost 50 union families directly impacted by recent natural disasters. Half of this donation will go to UFCW members in support of their front-line workers who have had to bear the brunt of serving the public.

Local 655 President David Cook played a key role working with United Healthcare to make this possible. “I was happy to be able to work with them and the state council to obtain needed funds both for our members’ support as well as other union families.”
