YOUR LETTERS: To the union members of St. Louis

As mayor, I’m working to build a St. Louis where every family can thrive – no matter their background, color of their skin, or their zip code.

Organized Labor is a key part of that vision, giving working people a voice on the job and fighting to make sure they get their fair share. When I say I want to see cranes in the sky over North St. Louis, it’s union plumbers, construction workers, bricklayers, and more who will be on the ground building our neighborhoods back up.

PROUD UNION MEMBER
My first job out of college was in a call center, where I was a proud member of Transport Workers 529. I experienced the union difference first-hand.

Unions fight for an economy that works for ALL of us, not just the wealthy and well-connected. My administration understands the valuable role unions play in leveling the playing field for working families and will continue to support workers in their right to organize for a better future.

Happy New Year to you and your union family.

TISHAURA O. JONES
Mayor, City of St. Louis
