UNITE HERE endorses Congresswoman Cori Bush for re-election

CORI BUSH

St. Louis – UNITE HERE Local 74 and UNITE HERE National have endorsed Congresswoman Cori Bush in her campaign for re-election to Congress representing Missouri’s 1st District.

“Our proud service industry workers at UNITE HERE and UNITE HERE Local 74 hold themselves to a high standard to create special experiences for our families in sports venues, hotels, restaurants, and more across the St. Louis region and I am honored to receive their endorsement,” Bush said. “Together, we will continue to champion legislation that strengthens and protects the rights of all workers, provides true living wages, and ensures economic prosperity for all.”

‘STOOD BY OUR SIDE’
“When greedy bosses attempted to interfere with workplace democracy with an anti-union, anti-worker messaging campaign, Congresswoman Bush boldly used her platform to stand by our side to demand a free and fair election,” said Kim Bartholomew, president of Local 74.

“Now, as far-right billionaires attempt to divide our proud, working-class community here in St. Louis, Unite Here Local 74 is proud to stand by Cori’s side making that same demand. Together, we will ensure that every worker receives respect and dignity in the workplace as we stand together to deliver the most for the people of our communities.”

“Congresswoman Cori Bush is a leading coalition builder who refuses to back down from a fight against corporate interests, and Unite Here is proud to endorse her. Cori stands as proof of what is possible and the power working-class people are capable of holding when we come together and to take bold action in defense of our democracy, freedoms, and for living wages and justice in the workplace,” Gwen Mills, president of UNITE HERE said.

ENDORSEMENTS
In addition to UNITE HERE and Local 74, Bush has been endorsed by the Communications Workers of America (CWA), CWA District 6, National Nurses United, SEIU Healthcare Missouri, the American Federation of Government Employees, and the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, as well as numerous current and former elected officials and community groups.
