East Alton, IL – The 11th annual Labor/United Way Trap Shoot & BBQ drew a long line of shooters last Friday, April 26, at the Winchester Trap & Skeet Facility.
After demonstrating their shooting skills, participants decamped to the Machinists Hall in East Alton for a barbecue lunch.
The trap shoot and barbecue are the major fundraising event for the annual Labor/United Way Campaign, which is supported by the Greater Madison County Federation of Labor, Greater St. Louis Labor Council, Southwestern Illinois Central Labor Council, St. Louis Building & Construction Trades Council and the Southwestern Illinois Building & Construction Trades Council.
The United Way of Greater St. Louis helps fund agencies that help people in a 16-county region of eastern Missouri and southern Illinois. This year’s event raised more than $27,000 to help the United Way fund programs in the bi-state region.
