50 YEARS
Gold Card recipients included:
• Don Boyster – 50 years
• Gale Jamison – 50 years.
The 50-year gold card recipients, who have never missed a dues payment, are exempt from paying further dues thanks to the International Union.
Jamison also received the Virgil Daly Award, named after Local 110’s former secretary-treasurer, who went out of his way to help anyone who needed it before the Local had a lot of resources, at times even taking money from his own pocket to pay members’ dues.
The inscription on the award reads: “To Gale Jamison, who has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow members and the officers of Laborers’ Local 110, AFL-CIO, for exceptional ability as a union Laborer and who demonstrates a strong commitment in the performance of his work and whose character reflects favorably toward our Local and the community.”
