Crystal Quade challenges Mike Kehoe to five debates before election day

CRYSTAL QUADE

Springfield, MO – Crystal Quade is challenging Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe to five separate televised debates across Missouri.

Quade has already agreed to invitations from the Missouri Press Association, the League of Women Voters, and Nextstar televised debates. They would take place in Springfield, Kansas City or St. Louis, and at a yet-to-be-announced location.

Quade’s campaign says Missouri voters also deserve an additional two debates on local TV that should take place in a combination of St. Joseph, Hannibal, Joplin, or Cape Girardeau media markets. The Quade campaign is continuing to field requests from local TV stations who are willing to host.

Kehoe has, so far, only agreed to one debate after refusing to debate in the Republican primary.

“From Cape Girardeau to St. Joe, from Hannibal to Joplin, it’s important that Missourians, no matter their zip code, can easily hear directly from candidates asking for their vote,” Quade said.

“I’m proud of my record and I’ve never backed down from my beliefs. Across our state, families are sick of the boys’ club giving handouts to corporations while working families struggle to put groceries on the table. Missourians can’t afford more of the same and it’s past time we have a champion for working Missourians in the Governor’s Mansion.”
