Union volunteers needed

Area Labor Clubs, the St. Louis Labor Council and St. Louis Building & Construction Trades Council are calling for union volunteers to help place yard signs for County Executive Sam Page on Wednesday, July 8, from 3-5 p.m.

The event is being organized by the North County, Rockwood and South County Labor Clubs.

DISTRIBUTION LOCATIONS
Signs will be distributed from three locations:

  • North County Labor Club, meeting in the parking lot of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 Union Office, 3640 Corporate Trail Dr. Earth City, MO 63045
  • Rockwood Labor Club, meeting at the Park & Ride at Highway 44 & Highway 141 (northeast corner of intersection).
  • South County Labor Club, meeting in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn, South County Center, 6921 S Lindbergh Blvd. St Louis, MO 63125

A STRONG SUPPORTER OF ORGANIZED LABOR
Page has proven to be a strong supporter of Organized Labor. Last fall, to ensure St. Louis firms and workers have a fair shot at winning St. Louis County construction work, Page signed an ordinance requiring payment of prevailing wages on all projects using county tax incentives, and he went one step further, creating by executive order, the position of Prevailing Wage Enforcement Coordinator, to ensure compliance with the county’s prevailing wage laws and consistent enforcement across county government.
