Imperial, MO – The Jefferson County Labor Club is hosting its annual Comedy Night Oct. 14 to benefit the Jefferson County Main Event Committee, which raises funds for local charitable foundations.

The event, which begins at 6 p.m., will be held at American Legion Post 283, 910 Montebello Road in Imperial. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., and the comedy show starts at 8 p.m. The evening will include prizes and giveaways and music before and after the comedy show.

“It’s a fun event that gives us the opportunity to support several local charities,” said Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 36 Business Representative Tom Leonard, who is chairman of the committee and a member of the Labor Club’s executive board. “We’re still working on securing the comedians depending on their national touring schedules.”

MORE THAN $39,000 RAISED SINCE 2007

The Main Event Committee has raised $39,250 since it was formed in 2007, helping fund the Arnold Food Pantry, Backstoppers, Boy Scouts of America, Jefferson County Rescue Mission, Kade’s Playground, MS Society, Peace Pantry, Ride On St. Louis and St. John’s Food Pantry.
