Applications for St. Louis Labor Day parade due July 12

Labor Day is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to secure your union’s spot in the St. Louis Labor Council’s Labor Day Parade.

The parade will be held in downtown St. Louis on Monday, Sept. 2, with the theme “Union Strong.”

“We are encouraging total union participation and would like a show of real solidarity from out St. Louis area unions!” said Labor Council President Pat White.

The parade entry fee is $240. Checks should be made payable to “St. Louis Labor Council Parade.”

Unions wishing to march in the parade with sister locals must clearly indicate as much on their parade application.

Unions celebrating a significant anniversary (25 or 50 years or more) should call the Labor Council office in advance to reserve special (front-line) placement.

Unions must get their information to the Labor Council by no later than Friday, July 12, to be included in the line-up placement, which will be determined by lottery at the July 16 St. Louis Labor Council delegates meeting, held at the Glaziers Hall, 5916 Wilson Ave. at 6:30 p.m. Unions must have their information in before the meeting to be included in the drawing.

Maps, regulations and locations will be sent out at a later date.
