Strikers at Christian Care Home will get a morale boost Feb. 24 from a Hip-Hop Benefit Show designed to serve both as a morale booster and raise funds for the workers.

Everyone’s invited to the show at the St. Louis Workers’ Education Society offices at 2929 S. Jefferson Ave., 7 – 10 p.m. Admission is $5, and strikers are free. Vegan hot dogs will be on sale to aid the strikers’ fund.

The all-ages event will feature the music of Sol Asar, Rev-Dellic and Brief.

Christian Care Home workers, members of SEIU, have been on strike for more than two months. They are demanding better wages and an end to abusive management practices. This is a historic fight, one that parallels the sanitation workers strike of 1968.

Along with many union members, WES has supported the strikers on the picket lines and with donations of money and supplies.
