Fire Fighters Local 73 has once again shown its support for St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s Pediatric Burn Clinic by donating $5,000 to the organization.

This is the 30th year Local 73, which represents St. Louis City fire fighters, has made a donation. Local 73 raised the money during its 38th Annual Bass Tournament last spring.

‘THANKFUL’
“We are so thankful to everyone who took part in the tournament from the players to all the local businesses who donated prizes,” said Joshua Gumpenberger, Local 73 member and chairman of the bass tournament. “We are happy to help St. Louis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Burn Clinic and its mission to provide comprehensive, compassionate care for pediatric burn patients.”

The occupational and physical therapists at St. Louis Children’s Hospital have extensive experience with pediatric burns and assist the hospital’s expert burn team of physicians, nurses, dietitians, psychologists and child life specialists to help children throughout the healing process.

‘GRATEFUL’
Haley Cooper, philanthropic officer for St. Louis Children’s Hospital, said the hospital is grateful for Local 73’s ongoing support.

“Donations from this tournament benefit our patients experiencing burns, surgical wounds, trauma wounds and more,” she said. “The funds support important needs like equipment upgrades, improving access to supplies, compression garments and other medical equipment and supplies not covered by insurance. This ensures each kid under our care receives a specialized treatment plan designed just for them.”
