The Great Southwestern Illinois Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling and Mechanical Contractors (GSW) will host a golf tournament Friday, Oct. 1 to benefit the Association’s annual scholarship program.
The GSW is an organization of union-affiliated contractors dedicated to the promotion, advancement, education and training of the industry for the protection of our environment and the health, safety and comfort of our community.
The Association awarded six $1,500 scholarships for the 2021 academic year to students planning to attend or currently attend a trade school, vocational college or two or four-year institution, and pursing degrees in the field relevant to the industry, particularly the mechanical trades or construction.
The scholarship winners were:
- Zachary Edmonds – Maryland Heights, Mo.
- Tiffany Jones – Belleville, Ill.
- Jack Lugge and Joseph Lugge – Freeburg, Ill.
- Delaney O’Neill – Wildwood, Mo.
- Emma Ruffini – Highland, Ill.
This year’s golf tournament to benefit the scholarship program will be held at The Orchards Golf Club, in Belleville, beginning at 8 a.m. The entry fee of $125 includes 18 holes of four-person scramble, golf, breakfast, lunch and drinks. Hole sponsorships are $125.
