IN MEMORIAM: Elevator Constructors Local 3 member Larry David McCart

Larry David McCart , a retired member of Elevator Constructors Local 3, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2020 at the Lutheran Home. He was 77.

Brother McCart was born March 14, 1943 in Hillsboro, Ill., to the late James and Alice Draper McCart.
He and Connie Owens were married Feb. 27, 1960 in Raymond, Ill.

Brother McCart worked for Local 3 in St. Louis for 28 years as well as the Cape Girardeau area for nearly 10 years. He and his wife Connie loved to go camping, horseback riding and traveling.

He was involved with and cared deeply about the Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship program in Oak Ridge, and was a member of Cape Bible Chapel.

Brother McCart is survived by his wife of 60 years, Connie McCart of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Tami (Kirk) Perkowski of Washington, Mo.; two sons, Ty (Gloria) McCart of Hoene Springs, Mo. and Troy (Sheila) McCart of Pacific, Mo; brother, Loy (Catherine) McCart of Athens, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Lauren (Luke) Lowe, Alyssa (Craig) Bremerkamp, Kraig Perkowski (Vivian Bouse), Rebecca (Roald) Punselie, Sarah McCart (Bruce Schwerdt), Tatum and Jude McCart; eight great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson, Eric McCart.

Due to COVID-19, private family services will be held. A private burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Brother McCart’s memory to the Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship Program, PO Box 154, Jackson, MO 63755.
