IN MEMORIAM: IBEW Local 1439’s Al Lamzik

Alvin “Al” Joseph Lamzik, a member of IBEW Local 1439, passed away Dec. 26, 2019 at the age of 85.

Brother Lamzik, of St. Peters, Mo., is survived by his children: Kenneth (Jean) Lamzik, Deborah (Bryan) Barklage, Stephen (Deb) Lamzik, Christopher (Becky) Lamzik, Matthew Lamzik, and Michelle (Kevin) Gebhardt; his 16 grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Edgar Lamzik; his sister-in-law, Ethyl Lamzik; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anita Louise Lamzik; his parents, Maximillian Lamzik and Marie Lamzik Sweney; his son, Doug Lamzik; and brothers, Richard Lamzik and Kenneth Lamzik.

Brother Lamzik proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 313 and enjoyed spending time outside golfing and fishing as well as traveling. He liked playing card games, especially pinochle and poker. He had a good sense of humor and was a very outgoing man. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service was held Jan. 3, 2020, at Baue Cave Springs at 3950 West Clay in St. Charles. Memorials may be made in Brother Lamzik’s honor to the American Legion Post 313.
