Offers discount to union members, two special charity-donation drinks

In the true spirit of trade unionism, Amy Corrigan, co- owner of The Irish Gypsy Bar, 1250 Bryan Road, O’Fallon, Mo., in promoting her great bar and grill menu to union members, has provided the names of other union restaurants/bars “in case you cannot visit us due to geography!”

To regular customers of The Irish Gypsy Bar & Grill Amy is known for her strong union alliances. In fact, they offer a 10 percent discount to all union members, first responders and veterans. All you have to do is show your union card.

They are the newest union house to be organized by UNITE-HERE Local 74. Customer reviews are five star ratings.

Co-owner husband Denny Corrigan is a member of Asbestos Workers Local 1.

‘AWESOME’
“It’s awesome to show support for fellow union bars, that’s what unions are all about,” said Krystal George, Local 74 business representative/organizer. “Trying to show love and support to other brothers and sisters is tremendous.”

“We recognize the importance of being union and hope to see you all soon,” Amy said in transmitting the bar’s exciting and varied menu to unions for distribution to their members.

And unique in the industry, their menu promotes four competitor union restaurants, “In case you cannot visit us due to geography:”

  • St. Louis – Maggie O’Briens, 2000 Market St.
  • Bridgeton – Lehmann’s Landing,12314 Natural Bridge Rd.
  • O’Fallon – Bleachers Sports Bar, 454 Highway P.
  • Florissant – BJ’s Bar & Restaurant, 184 Washington St.

SPECIAL DRINKS
To further solidify their relationship with Organized Labor, they have two special Labor-related drinks, and donates 50 cents from each drink to Guns & Hoses:

  • Kelly’s Revenge created by Kelly Martorelli, the niece of the late Operating Engineers Local 513 business manager Jack Martorelli, and a good friend of the owners. Jack was an avid supporter of Guns & Hoses.The drink: a shot of Parrot Bay strawberry rum, peach schnapps, watermelon pucker and a splash of Sprite.
  • P.J. White Delight, named after St. Louis Labor Council President Pat White, who is good friends with the owners. The drink: zero cucumber mint vodka, water and a splash of lemonade.
