Activist Kevin FitzGerald, a Heat & Frost Insulators Local 1 retiree, has joined the United Way of Greater St. Louis as a representative for the 2022 Season of Giving Labor campaign.

This year marks the 100-year anniversary of the organization and the 80-year anniversary of the United Way working in conjunction with Organized Labor in the Metro St. Louis area.

“Kevin will be reaching out to our unions and Labor allies to assist us with this year’s fundraising campaign,” said Sonja Gholston-Byrd, vice president of United Way Labor Engagement. “He will also be visiting and showing up in the community on our behalf.”

The United Way has served as a critical thread in the fabric of the St. Louis region, strengthening the safety net to lift neighbors when they need it most. It covers 16 counties and 324 ZIP codes across Missouri and Illinois.
