Belleville, IL – For the 14th straight year, the Working Women’s Committee of the Southwestern Illinois Central Labor Council is holding a holiday raffle fundraiser for the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
The Illinois group was founded in 1985 as an independent, non-profit group that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Foundation has granted wishes to more than 15,000 children including more than 400 so far this year.
The drive will end with a 50-50 raffle drawing on Dec. 21 with the theme, “Unions Make Wishes Come True.” Direct donations may also be made.
Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. To join in, send checks made out to “Make a Wish Foundation” to Mary Laurent, at 1619 Westhaven Drive, Belleville, IL 62220-3247. Any questions, call her at (618) 235-2302.
