Labor Day Parade line-up set

THE ST. LOUIS LABOR DAY PARADE was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it returns this year to celebrate unions and working families.

The line-up has been set for this year’s St. Louis Labor Council Labor Day parade. The parade will be held in downtown St. Louis on Sept. 5.

Groups will start forming at 7 a.m. on Olive Street between Jefferson and 15th streets.

The parade will step off at 9 a.m. led by Musicians Local 2-197, Grand Marshall, Color Guard, United Way, Clergy, Police and Fire Chiefs, Mayor and County Executive. Union locals celebrating anniversaries this year will lead the line up:

  • 125th – IBEW Local 2
  • 90th – Operating Engineers Locals 513/148
  • 25th – IATSE Local 493

Locals and affiliates that celebrated anniversaries last year, when COVID canceled it:

  • 100th – CBTU St. Louis Chapter 
  • 50th – Letter Carriers/Postal Workers
  • 50th – Machinists Lodge 777/Dist. 9
