Jefferson City – Missouri AFL-CIO-endorsed Crystal Quade is receiving growing support from Labor unions in her 2024 bid to be Missouri’s next governor.

On Nov. 15, Quade, the Missouri House Minority Leader, received the endorsement of the SEIU Missouri/Kansas State Council, which represents 14,000 frontline essential janitors, hospital, nursing home, and home care workers. The Council said Quade’s actions, advocacy, and defense of worker’s rights has shown that Missouri’s working families can trust her to fight for them.

Quade, a Democrat has also received the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) State Conference, Teamsters (IBT) Local 245, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 655 and the Kansas City and Sedalia Building Trades.

‘PROUD TO SUPPORT’
“Frontline essential workers are proud to support Crystal Quade. Crystal has been an active voice for working families in the Missouri House of Representatives and has continually supported our fights and protected us from unjust legislation,” said Dwonna Dunning, a nursing home worker and SEIU Healthcare member.

“She has a record of showing up for working families across the state and is a champion against anti-union legislation. Her battle against injustice has shown us her commitment to creating a Missouri that provides for people in both rural and urban areas,” Dunning said.

Quade comes from a rural, working-class background, giving her a unique understanding of the systemic struggles faced by workers and their communities. She uses this passion and knowledge to effect political change in the Missouri House.

STANDS WITH WORKING FAMILIES
“Crystal has stood alongside working families for eight years as a state legislator, and has a proven record of fighting for essential workers and their families,” said Lenny Jones, SEIU Missouri/Kansas State Council President. “Her work in the Missouri House, and the leadership she displayed in advocating for workers, give us confidence she will bring needed and beneficial change to Missouri’s working class families.”
