Laborers Local 110 is teaming up with the Arnold Food Pantry to provide assistance with food to striking UAW members and their families.

On Sept. 28, Local 110 held its annual picnic at Grant’s Farm and collected more than two and a half tons of canned goods for the pantry, which provides food to residents in Arnold and portions of Imperial and Fenton.

In an effort to help out its union brothers and sisters of the UAW, Local 110 has requested that some of the food be made available to striking UAW workers. Members can stop by the pantry at 2024 Key West Drive in Arnold and show their union membership card and a driver’s license to receive food.

“The Arnold Food Pantry has pledged to always be a safety net for working men and women whenever possible,” said Phil Amato, the pantry’s board president. “This is one of those times when friends step up to help.”

The Arnold Food Pantry is the largest non-denominational food distribution center in the St. Louis region that does not receive city, state or federal government funding. For more information on the pantry or to donate, call 636-287-3663 or visit wefeedthehungry.org.
