Laborers 110’s Terry Burgess running for Missouri House District 113

Festus, MO – Laborers Local 110’s Terry Burgess is answering the call for Labor candidates and running as Democratic contender in the race for Missouri House District 113 against anti-worker pro-RTW Republican incumbent Dan Shaul of Imperial.

Burgess, of Barnhart, attended the March 9 Jefferson County Labor Club meeting to introduce himself and ask for the Club’s support. The district includes portions of Arnold, Imperial and Barnhart.

He said he was born and raised in Imperial and that his family has been in the area for 60 years. He has more than 18 family members who are in unions, including six cousins and one uncle in local Laborers’ unions, and his grandfather who spent over 50 years in Operating Engineers Local 513.

“We are a very big, strong union family, and I have a lot of support from them in my run for office,” Burgess said. “We need someone in Jefferson City who’s going to stand up for Labor. I know I’ve got a long road ahead of me, but I’m up for the challenge.”
