Learn how to wire a light and how to start a bright career as a union electrician at the next Missouri Women in Trades (MoWIT) workday on Saturday, June 8.

MoWIT, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women enter and succeed in great careers in the building trades, is teaming up with IBEW Local 1 to upgrade the lights to LED at the St. Louis Workers Education Society (WES), where the MoWIT office is housed.

The event will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2929 S. Jefferson Ave. in St. Louis. Wear sturdy shoes and work clothes and bring personal protective equipment (PPE). Lunch will be provided.

Attendees will be able to learn some basics about electrical components and how they can become union electricians.

IBEW Local 1439, the St. Louis Electrical Workers Minority Caucus and J. West Electrical Contracting are also partners in the event.
