Madison County Federation of Labor recognizes winners of last year’s softball tournament

SPRINKLER FITTERS LOCAL 268’s softball team accepted the traveling trophy of the Greater Madison County Federation of Labor for winning the Federation’s annual Labor Day Softball Tournament fundraiser last September. Long-delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Federation President B. Dean Webb (third from left) presented the trophy Feb. 25 to (from left) Patrick Lenzner, Jonathan Harris (Webb), Business Agent Joe Besmer, Danny Vohs and team manager Rob Kezele. As winners of the tournament, the Local 268 team got to choose where the tournament’s $1,069 in proceeds would go, and they chose the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance (IFSA) burn camp for children and teens, which is also regularly supported by Steamfitters Local 439 out of Caseyville. – Labor Tribune photo
