CRYSTAL QUADE

Springfield, MO – Missouri AFL-CIO-endorsed Crystal Quade is continuing to gain steam in the Democratic primary for Missouri governor, with a growing number of Labor unions endorsing her 2024 campaign.

On Dec. 4, the Missouri-Kansas-Nebraska Conference of Teamsters endorsed Quade’s campaign.

The Missouri-Kansas-Nebraska Conference of Teamsters represents more than 35,000 working men and women of Missouri in 20 locals across the State of Missouri in addition to representing over 20,000 retirees.

Their members work in the areas of freight distribution, car-haul, heavy highway construction, wholesale and retail food distribution, small parcel and package delivery, brewery and soda manufacturing, school bus drivers, and many of Missouri’s transportation industries.

“Missourians deserve a governor who will make working Missourians the priority, not an afterthought, and Crystal Quade has proven she’ll stand alongside the workers who drive Missouri’s economy ,” said Mike Scribner, president of the Missouri-Kansas-Nebraska Conference of Teamsters. “Unions built the middle class and Crystal Quade has been an ally with labor in the fight against so-called ‘right-to-work’ politicians and anti-worker policies.

‘HONORED TO RECEIVE’
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the Missouri-Kansas-Nebraska Conference of Teamsters. Together, by strengthening our Labor unions we can make an economy that works for everybody and make Missouri a better and safer place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Quade.

OTHER UNION ENDORSEMENTS
Quade also has received the endorsements of the Missouri AFL-CIO, IBEW State Conference, SEIU State Council and Healthcare-Missouri, Teamsters Local 245, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 655 and the Greater Kansas City and Sedalia Building & Construction Trades Councils.

‘WHEN WORKERS STAND TOGETHER’
In an October opinion piece for the Labor Tribune, Quade said:

“My family’s story is like so many other Missouri families. We know a good-paying job with good benefits can change the trajectory of a family. Labor unions have fought for decades to bring Missouri families those jobs. Here in Missouri, and across the country, we’re seeing workers across industries continuing the fight to live and work with dignity. Unions are standing up for  workers while multinational corporations are making record profits and paying stockholders, rather than rewarding those who are creating the company’s wealth.
“I grew up knowing what hard work looks like, I’m the daughter of a factory worker and a diner waitress, not the latest generation of a political dynasty. I’ll continue to support Missouri’s Labor unions as I always have, and I urge every working Missourian to do the same. When workers stand together, we win.”
