St. Charles — Dave Meinell, president of the Missouri Alliance for Retired Americans, met with U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill during a re-election campaign stop recently. Meinell thanked McCaskill for her leadership in turning around grim conditions at the St. Louis Veterans Home, 10600 Lewis and Clark Blvd. McCaskill was instrumental in a plan to remodel the veterans home, create single rooms and improve care. Meinell’s message was delivered on behalf of the home’s residents and their families. Speaking to reporters in St. Charles, McCaskill was asked her feelings about a proposed national “right-to-work” bill, something her opponent, Republican Josh Hawley, said he would have to see to consider. “I’ll tell you something,” McCaskill said, “I don’t’ have to see the bill. I’m against a national RTW law! Period.” These are just two of the reasons why Senator McCaskill deserves to be re-elected to represent working Missourians. – Kevin Madden photo
