THE MURAL SHOWING CLYDESDALES pulling an old beer wagon that has towered over Interstate 55 on the west face of the Anheuser-Busch brewery in St. Louis since 1968 was replaced Jan. 31 with a shiny new version, resembling the old one, but with sharp, bright colors refreshing the hues of the original that had faded over time. Here, workers from Piros Signs, a signatory contractor to Sign & Pictorial Painters Local 774 and IBEW Locals 1, 309 and 649 use a crane to unbolt and lower the old sign in preparation for replacing it with an updated eight horse Clydesdale hitch and wagon mural created by St. Louis artist Phil Jarvis in celebration of the Budweiser Clydesdales’ 90th anniversary. – Photo by Bill Greenblatt/UPI
