Northwest High School students learn about careers in the trades

CEDAR HILL, MO – Students at Northwest High School learned about rewarding careers in the skilled trades at a Trade and First Responder Career Fair here April 18. About 15 building trades and first responder representatives were on hand for the event. Visitors to the district’s Facebook page applauded the school’s effort to introduce students to construction and first responder careers. Ironworkers Local 396 Apprenticeship Coordinator Jim Hunt (left photo) explains the union’s apprenticeship program to interested students. At right, IBEW Local 1 Business Representative Chuck DeMoulin talks with students about careers in the growing electrical industry and the need for skilled electricians and communication technicians. – Northwest High School photos
