Operating Engineers Local 513 bannering new Woodspring Suites Hotel

St. Peters – Operating Engineers Local 513 is bannering the new Woodspring Suites Hotel off Veterans Memorial Parkway west of Salt Lick Road because the developer, Choice Hotels, is using Jokerest Construction, a non-union contractor that pays far below the area’s wages and benefits negotiated by Local 513. “We talked to two of Jokerest’s employees who said they were being paid less than half of what we make in total wages and benefits,” said Local 513 Business Representative Andy Schalk.
