International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) District Council (DC) 58 members and students from its Job Corps pre-apprenticeship program brightened up the Greater St. Mark Family Church in Ferguson with a fresh coat of paint as part of its “Community Day of Action” April 20.

The IUPAT has been involved in Job Corps since 1969 and is one of five building trades unions offering training programs through the organization, which gives at-risk and underprivileged youth academic and vocational training to help end the cycle of poverty. The training prepares students to enter the IUPAT apprenticeship program.
