Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 members, AFL-CIO President Jake Hummel volunteer at NCJW Back to School event

CREVE COEUR, MO – Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562 members (from left) Brian Beck (Senator Doug Beck’s nephew), Tom Madden, Senator Doug Beck, Dan Beck (Senator Beck’s brother) and Missouri AFL-CIO President Jake Hummel (IBEW Local 1) spent the day volunteering at the St. Louis chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women’s (NCJW) Back to School Store on Aug. 6. The one-day event provides local children in need with the essentials to be successful at school and excited to learn. Since the annual event began in 2000, NCJW’s St. Louis chapter has served more than 25,000 children in the community.            –  Philip Deitch photos
