Port Council hopes to score a hole-in-one with first golf outing and awards dinner

Golfer-in-sunLTFor as long as anyone can remember, the Greater St. Louis Area Port Council has held an annual formal dinner to honor area Labor and business leaders and raise money for the Council’s PAC fund. This year, the Council is trying something different; the dinner will be a casual affair and will follow the Port Council’s first-ever golf outing.

The golf tournament will be held Friday, Sept. 9, starting at noon, at The Landings at Spirit Golf Club, 180 N. Eatherton Road, Chesterfield, MO. The tournament will be followed by the Port Council’s annual awards dinner.

“This is the first year that we’ve ever had a golf tournament,” said Port Council President Jack Martorelli. “They do this around the country at different port councils and we thought we’d give it a shot. The dinner will follow, and it will be casual dress because people will be coming in from the golf tournament. Everybody is looking forward to it. It should be fun.”
