PRIDE awards luncheon Aug. 21 will honor leadership in the construction industry

PRIDE logoPRIDE Labor-Management is honoring leadership in the St. Louis construction industry with its seventh annual awards luncheon Thursday, Aug. 21, at Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 36 Training Center and Union Hall, 2319 Chouteau Ave. in St. Louis.

This year’s luncheon will salute Express Scripts and the St. Louis Cardinals – two organizations with expansive building projects that have energized the local economy and employed thousands of local construction workers.

• Express Scripts, withmore than 1 million square feet of office space and 4,600 local employees, recently added a new 220,000-square-foot building and expanded its Technology and Innovation Center as part of a $56 million investment. Express Scripts will receive the PRIDE Industry Impact Award.

• The St. Louis Cardinals unveiled the much anticipated Ballpark Village downtown this year after opening the new Busch Stadium in 2006. The Cardinals will receive the Dick Mantia Labor Award

Also honored will be:

Don Wojtkowski, executive director, facilities and properties, SSM Health Care – St. Louis, who will receive the Joe Rinke Owner Award.

• Jeff Aboussie, executive secretary-treasurer, St. Louis Building & Construction Trades Council, who will receive the Al Fleischer Management Award.

Luncheon tickets are $75 each, or $600 for a table of eight.
