Salvation Army preparing pre-packed food for families during COVID-19 coronavirus restrictions

The Salvation Army Midland Division is working closely with state agencies to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Midland Division includes working families in Missouri and Southern Illinois.

COMMUNITY CENTERS
Salvation Army community centers will remain open to provide pre-packed food, in bags or boxes, to minimize person-to-person contact. Locations have transitioned to outdoor drive-through/pick-up or door pick-up for food boxes. Several locations that offer hot meal programs have transitioned to grab and go meals in pre-packaged containers that can be picked up at the door. Food services are available at the following locations:

Missouri

  • Arnold Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Wednesday, 9:3011:45 a.m.
  • Euclid Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Ferguson Community Empowerment Center: Emergency financial assistance available (by appointment only).
  • Family Haven CIP: Food Pantry Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Gateway Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Mondays and Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.; Wednesdays, 3 – 5 p.m.
  • Maplewood Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Wednesday, 9:30 a.m.12:30 p.m.
  • O’Fallon Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 10 a.m. – 1:45 p.m., and the second Wednesday of the month 5:30 – 7:15 p.m.
  • Temple Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Mondays 10 a.m. -12 p.m. and Thursdays 3 – 5 p.m. Additional Mobile Marts Wednesdays, 35 p.m. Community meals served Wednesdays, 68 p.m.
  • St. Charles Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Tuesday – Thursday, 1 – 3:15 p.m. and Fridays, 1 – 2:45 p.m.

ILLINOIS

  • Alton Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Tuesday, 911 a.m.
  • Belleville Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Wednesday –Thursday, 14 p.m.
  • East St. Louis Community Center: Food Pantry Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Granite City Corps Community Center: Food Pantry Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 12:45 p.m.

All unlisted Corps Community Centers and Social Service Sites can be contacted directly for a list of ongoing services.

SHELTERS
Salvation Army Shelters will remain fully operational. Safety plans have been established to meet the needs of each location. Arrangements have been made to separately house residents who are symptomatic and to implement social distancing where possible. 

MIDTOWN SERVICE & TREATMENT CENTER
Treatment services will continue normal operations, though visitors will be restricted for the time being. Arrangements have been made to separately house in-patient clients who are symptomatic and to implement social distancing where possible.

VETERANS’ RESIDENCE
Housing services will continue normal operations, though visitors will be restricted for the time being. Safety plans have been enacted to ensure the well-being of transitional and permanent housing residents

THRIFT STORES
All Salvation Army thrift stores are closed until further notice.
