A record-breaking 2,800 tradeswomen – including a record-breaking number from St. Louis – attended at this year’s Women Build Nations Conference in Minneapolis.

Tradeswomen and construction industry leaders convened Oct. 4 – 6 to advance career paths and strengthen union tradeswomen’s futures at the ninth annual conference, sponsored in part by the North American Building Trades Unions.

The conference was held in downtown Minneapolis, included a half-day of volunteering in the local community on Friday, Oct. 4, and a tradeswomen parade, complete with local union banners, on Saturday, Oct. 5.

To showcase some of the St. Louis area women who attended the conference, the Labor Tribune is preparing another edition of “Superstars in the Sisterhood,” which will include photos of local tradeswomen who participated in the event.

If you would like to be included in our Nov. 7 “Superstars in the Sisterhood,” send your photos to Women of Labor Editor Sheri Gassaway at sheri@labortribune.com or text it to 314-640-6047. The deadline for entries is Friday, Oct. 25.

Please include your name, your union local, identification of all local tradeswomen and a brief description of what is happening in the photo. For more information, call Sheri Gassaway at the number above.
