St. Louis fire fighter elected to head State Council

St. Louis Fire Fighters Local 73 President Demetris “Al” Alfred was recently elected president of the 6,000-member Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters.

A 28-year veteran St. Louis fire fighter, now in his eighth year as Local 73’s president, Alfred previously served as the local’s second vice president and the IAFF’s Second District Representative.

For the past 21 years he has served on the city’s Rescue Squad 1.

“Our goal is to help sustain quality service to Missouri residents by improving conditions for fire fighters and paramedics across the state and when called on, to help smaller locals in dealing with their communities,” Alfred said.
