Earth City, MO – Workers at Motors and Armatures have been working to form a union with Teamsters Local 688 since last March. The company recently fired five employees for supporting the union.

Now workers are rallying ahead of the union election vote on Feb. 27.

Local 688 Organizer Mike Marquardt said organizers are planning to rally from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, and Monday, Feb. 26, at 13490 Lakefront Drive A, Earth City, Mo., to show workers support ahead of the election.

“This is the most discriminative workplace that I’ve ever seen,” Marquardt said.

“We were winning until they fired five people.”

Marquardt is asking any Labor supporters and allies to join the rallies, particularly the rally on Feb. 26, the day before the election, so workers will know their union brothers and sisters are behind them.
