Stenger endorsed by St. Louis Labor Council, Carpenters, Building Trades

STENGER

St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger has received the endorsements of the St. Louis Labor Council, St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council and the St. Louis Building & Construction Trades Council, representing tens of thousands of union members in St. Louis County.

“I am humbled and honored to have these endorsements,” Stenger said.

RAISED IN A UNION HOUSEHOLD

Stenger has stood unwaveringly with Organized Labor throughout his career. His father was a union lineman and his grandfather was a union electrician on the railroad –– so he saw firsthand the benefits of Organized Labor.

“Steve Stenger has been a tremendous supporter and friend of Organized Labor,” said Pat White, president of the St. Louis Labor Council. “Steve grew up in a union household so he understands our issues and shares our values.”

UNDERSTANDS WORKING FAMILY ISSUES

As County Executive, Stenger has fought anti-worker policies and politicians who support them because he believes our jobs and our families’ futures are at stake.

“Steve supports the issues of working families and we are 100 percent behind him.” said Al Bond, executive secretary-treasurer of St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council.

Under Stenger’s leadership, St. Louis County has seen over $5 billion in economic activity and the creation of more than 30,000 new or retained jobs, he noted.

‘ECONOMIC BOOM’

“Under his leadership, there has been an economic boon in St. Louis County,” said John Stiffler, executive secretary-treasurer of the St. Louis Building & Construction Trades Council. “That means our members are working, earning paychecks, purchasing homes, purchasing cars, putting food on the table, and taking care of their families.”

Stenger has also been endorsed by the St. Louis County Police Association, Fire Fighters Local 2665, South County Labor Club, North County Labor Club, and Rockwood Labor Club.
