THE UNITED WAY, union members and their friends are invited to take part in the 14th Annual Labor/United Way Trap Shoot & BBQ Friday, April 22, from 8 a.m. to noon at Winchester Trap & Skeet Facility, 600 Powder Mill Road, East Alton, Ill. 62024.

There’s still time to register for the 2022 Labor/United Way Trap Shoot & BBQ, the major fundraising event for the annual Labor/United Way Campaign.

This year’s event will be held Friday, April 22, from 8 a.m. to noon at Winchester Trap & Skeet Facility, 600 Powder Mill Road, East Alton, Ill. 62024

The barbecue will be held after the shoot at Machinists Lodge 660, 161 N. Shamrock Road, East Alton, IL 62024.

The annual event is supported by the Greater Madison County Federation of Labor, Greater St. Louis Labor Council, Southwestern Illinois Central Labor Council, St. Louis Building & Construction Trades Council and the Southwestern Illinois Building & Construction Trades Council in continuing support for the United Way, which invests more than $1 million each week in our communities by funding 170 agencies that help people in the bi-state area.

The $70 entry fee includes two rounds of trap, plus the barbecue. A long-shot side game will be offered again this year for an additional cost collected at the shoot.

The gun club provides shotguns and ammo; however, you can bring your own shotgun.

There are four sponsorship levels.

  • 10 Gauge Sponsor – $1,000 (includes two shooters)
  • 12 Gauge Sponsor – $500
  • 16 Gauge Sponsor – $250
  • 20 Gauge Sponsor – $125

Sponsors at each level will be displayed on signs at the range and barbecue. Sponsorship donations may be tax-deductible.

COVID-19 health and safety precautions will be in place. Social distancing will be practiced, and face coverings must be worn throughout the event, even if you have been vaccinated, to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19. A safety acknowledgment and liability waiver and release form will be presented at the event and must be signed by each individual in attendance.
