Earth City, MO – A wave of UPS Teamster practice picketing is hitting UPS locations all over the country in anticipation of the nationwide UPS contract expiration on July 31.

Teamsters Local 688 held a practice picket action July 12 at the UPS center in Earth City.

Some 340,000 UPS Teamsters nationwide are more united than ever with a clear message to the country, the union said: “Corporate greed and part-time poverty at UPS don’t work – and neither will we if we don’t have a strong contract on Aug. 1.”

In addition to the Earth City location, Local 688 has held practice pickets at Missouri UPS facilities in Pevely, Union, St. Louis and Camdenton.

The practice picket lines, provide an opportunity for UPS employees to practice essential strike-related activities such as picketing, rallying, and engaging with the public.

Talks broke down between the Teamsters and UPS on July 5, with no new sessions scheduled before the current contract expires at midnight on July 31.
