Mark your calendars for the Third Annual “Dick Kellett $5 for the Fight Comedy Night,” Saturday, Feb. 24. This year’s event is co-hosted by the Labor Tribune.

St. Louis native Johnny Kavanaugh and other area comedians will supply the entertainment.

The late Dick Kellett was a fierce fighter for the working men and women of Missouri. His legacy is honored through raising money to help union families that are facing tough times through the “$5 for the Fight” fund, contributions to which are now tax-deductible.

This year’s event will also honor Mike Louis, former president of the Missouri AFL-CIO, and former Missouri Senator Gina Walsh, deputy director of the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators Union Labor Management and Cooperative Trust (LMCT).

Individual tickets are available for a tax-deductible donation of $25 per person. All proceeds will go directly to the “$5 for the Fight” fund.

The laughs will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local 6300’s union hall, located at 2258 Grissom Dr., St. Louis, Mo. 63146. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Bring your own food and beverages. Beer and set-ups will be provided.

Fight Fund has a new benefit: for YOU

Your $5 for the Fight donation to help a union brother or sister in need now has a personal benefit for YOU: it’s tax-deductible.

The Missouri AFL-CIO has registered the Fund as a 501(c)3 charity which it was not previously. As a result, all donations now are tax-deductible to the donor.

Now you can help a union family in crisis and at the same time help yours with a tax savings.
