Tradeswomen and their allies can learn strategies to ensure that policymakers understand the needs of tradeswomen in order to pass legislation essential to them during a Tradeswomen Policy Advocacy Training webinar on Oct. 26.

The event, sponsored by the Policy and Action Committees of the National Taskforce on Tradeswomen Issues, will begin at 6 p.m. central time. The training is designed to be accessible to people who have experience with legislative advocacy as well as those who are newer to the process.

Speakers will go over the process of preparing for and attending lobby visits with legislators and staff; how to contact legislative offices in writing or over the phone; and how to engage in social media and other media-related advocacy, including writing op-eds. The status of pending and/or enacted legislation affecting the rights of tradeswomen and/or access to jobs in the trades will also be discussed.
